Drug Non-compliance in Chronic Psychiatric Ward

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors investigated the rate of drug non-compliance of 100 chronic schizophrenics (male 50 and female 50) by the Forrest reagent test.
The results were as follows.
(1) The mean drug non-compliance rate was 18.0%(14.0% in male, 22.0% in female).
(2) The non-compliance rate was low in the group of first admission (9.4io), while high of second admission (29.45vo).
(3) The non-compliance rate was low in the group of lower dosage and longer duration of admission.
(4) The non-compliance rate was not significantly influenced by the age, sex, socioeconomic status, number of prescribed drugs, character of delusions, and marital status.
(5) It was suggested that the Forrest reagent test may be employed as a useful clinical test.
